A Leading Supplier of Eco Design Stoves

Are they really that much better for homes in Hertfordshire?

The honest answer is yes, absolutely. Why? Because a modern eco stove has been designed to produce 80% less emissions than your average 10-year old stove, and a whopping 90% less than an open fire commonly used in cast iron combinations and firebaskets.

There is a misconception that stoves are slowly being phased out entirely, and this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, the government included wood burning stoves in their latest Clean Air Strategy back in 2019, aiming to reduce the amount of harmful emissions that affect air quality by ensuring stove manufacturers improve the performance and efficiency of their stoves.

They introduced a new ‘Ecodesign Ready Label’, ensuring that only stoves that comply with the most recent emissions standards could be produced and sold to the public as of 2022. For a stove to earn its ‘eco’ label, it must adhere to the rigorous emissions criteria, with a significant reduction in the release of pollutants such as; particulate matter, carbon monoxide, and nitrogen oxides when compared to the older, traditional models. What does this mean for those that have an older stove? Depending on where you live, you may still be permitted to use your existing stove. However, for residents that live in smoke control areas in and around London, it is mandatory to use only an Eco or DEFRA approved wood-burning stove.

If you’re thinking of planning a home improvement project this year, it may be a good opportunity to replace your old stove or open fire with a new, eco design stove. Pop into our showroom to view our exciting range of roaring log burners, and speak to a member of our team for further advice.

Electric Media Wall Fires in Hertfordshire

Eager to elevate your home with electric media wall fires in Hertfordshire?

There are plenty of big wins when it comes to electric media wall fires – they’re stylish, easy to use, sleek and convenient. You also have the flexibility to create the perfect ambience with a flat-screen TV, LED lights, shelving and more. They’re also very cost-effective to run, with modern-day electric fires that are fully ErP compliant. Some models will run for as little as 3p per hour, marking a huge drop in cost when compared to the high expense of old, traditional space heaters.

You also have the freedom to integrate digital entertainment and fireplace elements into a seamless design, enhancing living spaces with a clean, modern aesthetic. You can finish the surface of the wall with any type of decoration, whether that’s plaster finishes, special paint finishes, tiles, decorative wall boards, wallpaper and paint. Gas fires are great if you’re looking to reduce your energy bills, as are electric fires. However, it really depends on the heat you desire, not to mention the harmony of character and style. There’s an art to finding that perfect balance. Even with eco wood burners or multi-fuel stoves, you may be able to drastically cut your energy costs with an eco stove, so there are so many options out there. The best starting point is always going to be a call, a message or a quick trip to our showroom.

Absolutely. In fact, you’ll find many small cottages and townhouses brimming with small rooms and heaps of personality. Why? Because the often small rooms with period charm include fireplaces! Whether your fireplace, stove or fire is positioned in the corner, mounted on the wall, or built into the chimney breast, there are so many options available. Put simply, a fireplace doesn’t need to dominate a room; it can add elegance and, in some ways, make the room feel bigger, more inviting, and of course, warmer.
